Gemini Storybook — Personalized Illustrated Storybooks with Narration
Google has introduced a new feature called Storybook within its Gemini AI app, allowing users to create personalized, illustrated, and narrated stories from simple prompts. Each storybook can have up to ten pages and includes unique illustrations and audio narration. Users can choose different art styles such as pixel art, comics, claymation, crochet, or coloring-book style, and customize characters, tone, and plot. It also allows the inclusion of personal content like photos or drawings to inspire the storyline and visuals.
Storybooks can be generated in more than 45 languages, although narration is only available in selected ones. The feature is accessible on desktop and mobile through the Gemini app and is available to users aged 18 and above. You cannot directly edit the text or images in the final output, but you can request changes via follow-up prompts. While the narration is functional, it uses a more robotic voice compared to the Gemini Live experience.
This tool is ideal for bedtime reading, educational storytelling, and turning personal memories into creative narratives. It’s a simple and fun way for families and educators to generate engaging and unique stories.
